Our “Little Red Cat,” REDCAT, has finally been formally adopted by Nature Methods!
—UCSD’s Raman metabolic imaging + Yale’s spatial omics cell typing: one slide that nails identity, location, and metabolism, all while being extendable to transcriptomics, epigenomics, and even in vivo applications.Four years ago, we hit it off with Professor Rong Fan, and later the teams of Zongming Ma and Mina Xu also came on board. We first shared this on bioRxiv two years ago, but receiving the final publication today still makes me overjoyed.
Nature Methods also put out a Research Briefing to accompany it, with some behind-the-scenes stories.
But the absolute stars are the three first authors: Yajuan Li (soon-to-be Yale faculty!), Jane Zhang, Archie Enninful and our coauthors who contributed to this study significantly
