Can an old cell be rejuvenated by young mitochondria (via transplantation directly into the cell)? I believe there are techniques to do these kinds of studies (mitopunch?).
In the case of cells with telomere attrition, mitochondrial transfer might have limited effect. But in other cases of damage it would be interesting to see what happens.
